I recently stayed at Le Grande in Newport for a short trip. The hotel had a great central location, with easy access to amenities and the train station. It was only a 20-minute drive to Cardiff, making it convenient for exploring the area. The hotel was situated on a residential street by the River Usk, which was a lovely sight. The property itself was spacious, with self-catering facilities including a washing machine and tumble dryer. The bedrooms were a good size, with comfortable beds and spotless bed linen. Parking was available right outside, and the overall cleanliness of the property was impressive. I would definitely recommend Le Grande for a cost-effective stay in Wales.
Would recommend this hotel.

The location was mind-blowing, with amenities and the train station close by. The river nearby was jaw-dropping, especially at night. The property was super, with self-catering facilities and clean bedrooms. The parking was a bit hit and miss but everything else was spotless. Super recommended for a cost-effective stay in Wales.

Easy access to Cardiff, just a short drive away. The property is spacious with good-sized bedrooms and self-catering facilities, including a washing machine and tumble dryer. The parking directly outside the property was convenient, although availability could vary. the property was clean and provided towels and bedding.
The cleanliness of the house was an issue, with unpleasant smells in the hall and kitchen, as well as visible grease and mould in the shower. Some amenities were lacking, such as plugs for the bath and hand basin, and the shower facility was not very clean.

Stayed in a "lovely" house, shared with random strangers, with no privacy. Observed "charming" city views and enjoyed the thrill of wondering if the fire extinguisher and first aid kit were actually functional. Managed by a "professional" host who probably knows where the nearby airports are.
So fun to share a house with strangers, I highly recommend it.

I recently stayed at Le Grande Newport for a weekend getaway. The location was perfect, situated in a quiet residential street with amenities and a train station close by. Plus, it was only a short 20-minute drive to Cardiff. I loved that the River Usk ran directly past the end of the street, and the Newport city footbridge was a delightful 20-minute walk away, especially when it was all lit up at night. The property itself was spacious and well-equipped, with self-catering facilities including a washing machine and tumble dryer. The bedrooms were a good size, with comfortable beds and plenty of towels and bedding provided. Additionally, parking was available right outside the property, making it convenient for us to come and go as we pleased. Le Grande Newport offered a clean and cost-effective stay in Wales.
I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Great value for money, spacious rooms with all necessary amenities provided. Conveniently located with easy access to amenities, train station, and nearby Cardiff. Beautiful view of River Usk from the street. Loved the illuminated Newport city footbridge at night. Highly recommend for an affordable stay in Wales.
Menu for breakfast could use some improvement, perhaps with more variety or healthier options.
